The $25,000 neon sign...
« on: July 16, 2004, 04:51:55 PM »
Back when I had digital cable, ISTR seeing an episode of WoF from the 88-89 season where Pat and Vanna introduce their new $25,000 sign. This was the one with the light bulbs. During that whole spiel, Pat mentioned the old "neon" sign. I've never seen this sign before. Does anyone know where there are screenshots of it on the internet?

This may help out just a bit....

This is a shot from the credits of the Wheel SNES Game.  If you look at it closely, you can see the sign at the top.

If this took place on the 88-89 season shouldn't we see it on GSN?  Isn't that the season they are airing now?

The neon sign is actually from the 1987-88 season.

Yes, but he is talking about the debut of the new sign, with all the light bulbs

Oh I was hoping to see the old neon sign again but I guess we won't see that with the GSN run any time soon.  I am sure that Wheel and J! will be ditched on the next schedule change.

I highly doubt we'll lose Wheel or J! anytime soon. But, I'd bet the house we'll lose the only thing I watch religiously on GSN, Let's Make A Deal. I think Blockbusters will be kept. Do you think we'll keep Love Connection? I detest that program.

Yes, today was the first show of that season and Pat made a mention of Jack Clark's passing.

OK, I have seen that one like 2 times already in the last few months it seems like and now to hear that it has aired a 3rd.  I agree that they are stuck in the 1988-89 season!

Did you expect anything less? I'm not surprised at all GSN wants to be tightwads, but it would've been nice at least to change to a different season, but looks like that won't happen for a while (or ever)

Now on the Sega Genesis version of Wheel, there was a photo with the neon $25,000 sign on the very top of the set or was it the $25,000 sign with the light bulbs, maybe I was referring to the $25,000 neon green sign.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

And I think Iris is more than marginally curious, if you get my drift.
